Conferences and Student Achievements


Students in the ENHANCE Lab are given the opportunity to share their research findings at prominent conferences across the world. In 2018, students presented at several local conferences as well as at conferences in Montreal and Rotterdam.

Master’s student, Chantel Ritter with her award-winning poster! Chantel’s poster presentation titled, “Externalizing Mental Health Issues in Children and Youth with Multiple Early Risks” received the Elinor Ames Award at the International Conference of Applied Psychology (iCAP) in Montréal, Quebec (2018).

Ph. D student, Jessica Baraskewich presented at the 5th Annual Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting (CNPRM) in Banff, Alberta. Her poster is titled, “Disordered Eating in Pregnancy: Child and Maternal Outcomes”.

Honours student, Stephanie Howe, and Summer Student, Rachel Pegaling shared their poster presentation titled, “Evaluating the relationship between accessing funding and stress of caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorder” at the 2018 Owerko Conference in Calgary.

Stephanie Howe received an Undergraduate Research Award Honourable Mention for her outstanding honours thesis at the psychology department’s Annual Student Award’s Ceremony (2018).

Master’s student, Amanda Aitken presented her poster, “Caregiver Stress and Comorbid Autism Spectrum Disorder and Epilepsy” at the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR) 2018 Annual Meeting in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Rachel Pegaling presented her research, “The Relationship Between Intolerance of Uncertainty and Typical vs. Atypical Anxiety in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder” at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) Summer Student Research Day following her hard work in the lab as a Summer Student!
